CCT Network

connections that take us beyond the formal CCT program of studies

What Can You Do Here?

This is the online social network site or "ning" for the CCT Network, an extension of the Critical & Creative Thinking Program intended to facilitate "connections that take us beyond the formal CCT program of studies"--connections that promote personal & professional development, community building & mutual support, educational-innovation & reflective practice activities.

We can do this through postings in our personal profiles, blogs, discussions in forums (with, say, other participants in any specific course), and by sharing photos, videos, bookmarks, manuscripts, drafts, and other resources. (Note: We lost Groups and some other functions in 2010 when ning.com changed its free subscription policies.)

As we decide what to say and when on this ning, the challenge is to make these online connections and exchanges:

  • articulate and affirm our personal and professional aspirations, including our desire to build supportive communities for our efforts.
  • provide resources to stimulate and advance projects that "facilitate connections that take us beyond the formal CCT program of studies."
  • spark other kinds of generative interactions we hadn't anticipated.

Each of us can choose our level of involvement - from irregular visits to peruse what other have posted to receiving email notification of every change on the site. See how-to instructions about making productive, sustainable use of this kind of social network, including a few pointers about Privacy, Personal Profiles, Blog posts, and blocking ads.
(Under consideration July ‘11 [responses welcome]: Making the whole ning, not only this home page, visible to non-members and considering requests to join from outside the immediate CCT community. Email addresses would not be visible, but the possible audience for your posts would be wider. )
